Our Story

My father Emilio emigrated from Italy when he was just 22 years old, and got a job at a glass factory in Brooklyn, sweeping saw dust for less than $0.75 an hour.

A classic immigrant tale, he achieved the American dream by working hard to build his career and start his own family. Emilio met the love of his life at an ice cream shop, and got married to my mother, Annette, in 1956. Two years later they had two sons, my brother Lou and I, all while living in my maternal grandmother’s house on 15th Avenue in Bensonhurst. Emilio continued to hone his craft and learn the trade, becoming a glass apprentice before opening his own business in Staten Island in 1968 (pictured above).

Emilio had four children with Annette, and they settled in Staten Island to raise their boys and grow their flourishing business. He taught my brothers Lou, Mark, Chris and I the tools of the trade, and we all entered the family business that continues today.

My father passed away in 2004, but his legacy lives on in Grand Glass, and through his four children, 9 grandchildren, and three great-grandchildren to date.

We pride ourselves on being a family-owned and operated business since 1968. There’s no substitute for experience, especially when it comes to your home and living space.

Thank you for considering our services, and we look forward to doing business with you.
